D.O. TERRA ALTA

Located in the western part of Tarragona. Terra Alta has recently begun producing modern style wines with similarities to other regions bordering the Mediterranean. Fresh, light and approachable.

Soil: Very rugged, with clay-textured calcareous soils.

Climate: Mediterranean, continental influences tempered by the Cierzo and Abrego winds.

Grapes:
Red: Carinena, Garnacha Peluda, Garnacha Tinta, Cabernet
Sauvignon, Syrah and Merlot.
White: Garnacha Blanca, Parellada, Macabeo, Moscatel and Chardonnay.

Wines: Modern-styled wines are more commonly produced today. Traditional styles were historically made for local consumption.

White are the highest production in this area. They are produced using majority garnacha blanca and they are Mediterranean character. Yellow aspect, mature fruit aromas and herbs; in the mouth they are smooth, warm, complex and very expressive.
Rosé are produced using garnacha and in the mouth they offer fruitiness and tastiness.
Red are cherry color, they have mature fruit aromas and in the mouth are pretty tasted.
